Valentine's Day Dhamaka 2010 Contests unveiled

'hottDhaka.com/C2 Valentine's Dhamaka 2009', a campaign involving a number of contests, begins today (Sunday) and ends on February 18.

hottMedia Ltd and Communication-2 briefed members of the press media about their upcoming promotional campaign recently, said a press release.

hottMedia Limited, a company specialized in media and entertainment, are the owner's of hottDhaka.com, Bangladesh's most popular social networking site and an interactive lifestyle guide. Communication-2 is a subsidiary of Multisourcing Limited, dealing with the five major mobile phone operators of the nation, who are providing the contents for the upcoming hottDhaka campaign.

'hottDhaka.com has partnered up with Communications-2 to provide hottDhaka.com users a variety of mobile-based services including latest ones like song dedication and a quiz contest,' said Ahad Mohammad Bhai, Managing Director, hottMedia Ltd., while discussing about the contest.

The contests, except for 'Mr. Romeo and Ms. Juliette', will mainly be mobile text based. Mr Romeo and Ms Juliette, a voice-based contest, will have the user call up 3355 and choose from a library of songs. They can listen to them on the phone and then dedicate these songs. The first prize for the contest includes a return trip for 2 to Cairo, courtesy of Qatar Airways, while the 2nd prize is a 8gb iPod touch, courtesy of iStore.

Love guru is a quiz contest where the user who answers the maximum number of appropriate answers will win a laptop computer, courtesy of Acer. A runner-up will win a dinner for 2 at Bithika restaurant of Sheraton Hotel.

In the 'Hott traveler' contest, users can choose their favorite locations and text this as many times as possible. There will be attractive prizes for this contest also. Omar Mohammad Bhai, Executive Chairman, hottMedia Ltd. said, 'hottDhaka.com is more than just a website, it is a lifestyle. And, with C2, we will be launching several exciting mobile based services such as the song dedication used in this contest.'

Zakir Khan, Operations Director, Communication-2 Limited, also talked about the future services that will be available for end users and about Communication-2's vision to continually provide innovative services to end users.

To raise awareness about the ongoing contests, a hottDhaka van will drive from campus to campus during the dates of the campaign. The van will have hottDhaka promoters who will tell potential participants/site users about the site. They will also have a laptop with them so users can sign up on the spot and try out mobile services so they can try and win some prizes! Radio Foorti is the radio partner for the event. The locations of the van will be broadcasted on the radio station later.

Prior to this, last week, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between hottMedia Ltd. and Communication-2.

According to the agreement, Communications 2 will develop and provide SMS and content related services for hottDhaka, while hottDhaka will market these services to its users. The organizers plan to initiate other events of this magnitude depending on the success of this event.
